The Magic Piece System: Your Wild Card for Rewards

In the Toto Chain ecosystem, collecting Fractional NFTs (fNFTs) is the primary way to earn significant rewards like full NFTs and the chain's core asset, TOTO. However, completing a full set of fNFTs can be challenging. To make this process more achievable and rewarding, the chain includes a special feature: the Magic Piece System.

This document explains what Magic Pieces are, their crucial function, and how they are distributed to users.

What is a Magic Piece?

A Magic Piece is a rare, special type of fNFT that acts as a "wild card." Its sole purpose is to help users complete full sets of fNFTs, which is the mandatory first step to claiming the most valuable rewards from the "Magic Box" (the Reward Pool).

Think of collecting fNFTs like assembling a puzzle. A Magic Piece is a universal puzzle piece that can fit into any empty spot, allowing you to finish the puzzle even if you're missing a specific piece.

The Purpose of Magic Pieces

The primary objective of the Magic Piece system is to ensure the reward mechanism is viable and fair. It reduces the chance that users get stuck with incomplete fNFT sets, unable to claim their rewards. By providing a "wild card," the system makes it more likely that active participants will be able to:

1. Form a Full NFT: Combine a nearly complete set of fNFTs with one or more Magic Pieces to claim the original, full NFT from the Magic Box.

2. Claim Liquid Core Assets: Possessing a full NFT (or the complete set of fNFTs/Magic Pieces required to claim it) is the mandatory condition for unlocking and receiving liquid TOTO from the Reward Pool.

In short, Magic Pieces are the key to unlocking the highest tier of rewards on the Toto Chain.

How Magic Pieces are Created and Distributed

Unlike regular fNFTs, which are distributed directly for specific user actions, the distribution of Magic Pieces is tied to the overall activity of the entire chain. This makes them rarer and their distribution less predictable.

Trigger Mechanism

A Magic Piece is automatically generated and minted to the Reward Pool whenever a certain issuance threshold is crossed.

• For every X (currently 100) number of regular fNFTs issued across the entire network, one Magic Piece is created. (The exact value of X is a configurable parameter).

This links the creation of Magic Pieces directly to the overall growth and activity of the chain, not to any single user's actions.

Recipient Selection

Once a Magic Piece is minted, it is not given out immediately. Instead, it is scheduled for random distribution.

• Random Distribution Window: The Magic Piece is randomly distributed to a user at some point within the next 28,800 blocks (approximately 24 hours).

• Mutually Exclusive: The distribution of a Magic Piece and a regular fNFT reward (e.g., from block production) will not happen in the same block.

This random, chain-wide distribution mechanism ensures that any active participant has a chance to receive one, adding an element of luck and excitement to the reward system.

How to Use a Magic Piece

Using a Magic Piece is straightforward and happens during the reward-claiming process.

1. A user collects most, but not all, of the fNFTs required to form a full set.

2. For any fNFTs they are missing, they can substitute one or more Magic Pieces they own.

3. The user then submits the combination of their collected fNFTs and the Magic Piece(s) to the Magic Box.

4. The system verifies the set is complete (with the help of the wild cards) and processes the claim.

5. Upon a successful claim, all the submitted fNFTs and Magic Pieces are burned (destroyed), and the user receives the full NFT and their liquid TOTO reward.
